Armie Hammer is moving from twins to royalty.
Hammer, who played twins Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss in "The Social Network," has been cast as the prince in Relativity Media's 2012 "Snow White," the studio 
announced Saturday. But don't call him "Prince Charming." In Relativity's picture, the character is Prince Andrew Alcott.
The actor is now filming "J. Edgar," Clint Eastwood's biopic of former FBI chief J. Edgar Hoover, opposite Leonardo DiCaprio.
Relativity is putting significant resources into its untitled "Snow White" project. Tarsem Singh is directing and Julia Roberts plays the evil queen
The studio has not cast anyone in the role of Snow White, and isn't close.
The studio had looked at "Atonement" star Saoirse Ronan for the role, but the 16-year-old Academy Award nominee is an improbable love interest for the 24-year-old Hammer, an individual with knowledge of the film told TheWrap.
Hammer is the great-grandson of the late industrialist and philanthropist Armand Hammer.

Relativity's is one of two "Snow White" projects currently at studios. Universal is making "Snow White and the Huntsman."
On Friday, Universal said it decided to pass on Viggo Mortensen, who was negotiating for the role of the Huntsman.
Losing the lead male character is a blow for Universal's film, which is scheduled to start shooting this fall for a Dec. 21, 2012 release.

Studio Casts Armie Hammer in Snow White Film
(Beverly Hills, CA) March 26, 2011 – Relativity Media has closed a deal with The Social Network breakthrough star Armie Hammer to play Prince Andrew Alcott in its upcoming untitled Snow White feature, based on the Brothers Grimm story, directed by Tarsem Singh (Immortals, The Cell).
Hammer joins Oscar®-winner Julia Roberts who was previously announced in the role of the Queen. Pre-production has begun, and principal photography will start in May. The theatrical release date is set for June 29, 2012.
Relativity's Snow White, a retelling of one of the most beloved fables of all-time, will eschew the traditional story in favor of a more modern tale full of comedy and adventure. After her evil stepmother kills her father and destroys the kingdom, Snow White bands together with a gang of seven quarrelsome dwarfs to reclaim what is rightly hers..
The film's producers are Ryan Kavanaugh (The Fighter), Bernie Goldmann (300) and Brett Ratner (Rush Hour franchise). The script was written by Melissa Wallack (Meet Bill) and Jason Keller (Machine Gun Preacher)
