Arnold Schwarzenegger Returns as – Yup – a Tough Guy in ‘The Last Stand’ (Video)

Arnold Schwarzenegger plays a small-town sheriff fending off an escaped drug boss in "The Last Stand"

Arnold Schwarzenegger is heading back to the big screen as — you guessed it — a tough guy in the upcoming “The Last Stand.”

This time, he plays a small-town sheriff and former LAPD officer, trying to prevent a fugitive drug-cartel boss from crossing through his town to get to the Mexican border.

"The Last Stand," which also stars Forest Whitaker, Johnny Knoxville and Zach Gilford ("Friday Night Lights"), is the first English-language feature from the South Korean director Kim-ji Woon, whose previous movies include "A Tale of Two Sisters," "The Good, the Bad, the Weird” and “A Bittersweet Life,” which is being remade at Fox.

The newly released trailer features requisite car chases, gunfights, police blockades, violent criminals, crashes and explosions, with Schwarzenegger's Sheriff Ray Owens vowing, "I'm not going to let that guy come through our town without a fight."

The movie is slated to open Jan. 18, 2013. Watch the trailer below.
