Report: Schwarzenegger’s Housekeeper Threatened to Reveal Affair

ABC News, New York Times and others identify Mildred Patricia Baena as the woman who had the former governor’s child

UPDATE 2:45 PM PT: New details, not surprisingly, are emerging in the case of Arnold Schwarzenegger and his love child.

According to RadarOnline.com, Schwarzenegger's mistress/housekeeper, Mildred Patricia Baena, threatened to go public after her employment was terminated by the "Terminator" star "in a bid to save his marriage with Maria Shriver."

Baena "was furious that the father of her 14-year-old son would callously fire her from her job after decades of loyal service," a "confidante of the Schwarzenegger family housekeeper" told the site.

Meanwhile, when the Daily Beast reports that after Schwarzenegger admitted his affair and love child to Shriver, "She asked him to leave the house and he refused," according to "a source close to Shriver."

TMZ obtained what it says is a copy of the birth certificate of Schwarzenegger's illegitimate child — "and he's not listed as the father on the birth certificate."

And TMZ has been posting a stream of vintage photos featuring Schwarzenegger, Baena and her son. (Unlike the photos shown here, TMZ is not blurring the child's face.)

EARLIER:

After 24 hours of frenzied speculation, Mildred Patricia Baena has been identified by several major media outlets as the mother of Arnold Schwarzenegger's out-of-wedlock child.

Baena worked as the family's housekeeper and assistant for nearly 20 years, but was let go last January, according to an ABC News report.

A spokesperson for Schwarzenegger did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The New York Times reports that Baena became pregnant with Schwarzenegger's child some 14 years ago — a period that overlaps with one of wife Maria Shriver's own pregnancies.

Citing friends of the family, the Times reports that Baena's child was an occasional presence in the Schwarzenegger home.

Baena's MySpace profile contains several photos of her with a baby and a young boy. It lists her age as 47 and her current location as Calabasas. TheWrap has obscured the face of the young man, but he does bear a striking resemblance to the former governor.

In a statement on Tuesday, Schwarzenegger acknowledged that he had a child with another woman over a decade ago, and revealed he only told his wife after leaving the governor's office. Schwarzenegger and Shriver announced their separation after nearly 25 years of marriage a week before the scandal broke.

Yesterday, Gawker claimed that it had a photo of a former Brea California high school football player that was the governor's son. It backed off slightly after Schwarzenegger biographer Wendy Leigh told the site that the photo Gawker had obtained was the governor's son, but it wasn't the same out-of-wedlock child from the Los Angeles Times report.

During his initial campaign for governor, Schwarzenegger was dogged by reports that he groped several women. Though he claimed some of the allegations were false, Schwarzenegger did apologize and admitted he "behaved badly sometimes." Throughout that ordeal, Shriver stood by him.

Among the alleged offenses, Schwarzenegger apparently touched women and pulled one woman onto his lap while discussing sexual activities.

As news broke of the existence of a child,  members of the Schwarzenegger-Shriver clan responded with a series of public statements and tweets.

In a statement, Shriver said, "This is a painful and heartbreaking time. As a mother, my concern is for the children. I ask for compassion, respect and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal. I will have no further comment."

Shriver also appeared at a Tuesday taping of the final episodes of “The Oprah Winfrey Show" in Chicago.

Two of Schwarzenegger and Shriver's weighed in on the scandal via Twitter. Patrick Schwarzenegger tweeted: "some days you feel like sh*t, some days you want to quit and just be normal for a bit, yet i love my family till death do us apart."

Older sister Katherine, meanwhile, took to the micro-blogging platform to tweet: "This is definitely not easy but I appreciate your love and support as i begin to heal and move forward in life. I will always love my family!"
