Anchor Bay Films has acquired distribution rights to writer-director Raymond De Felitta’s Bronx-set family ensemble dramedy "City Island," starring Andy Garcia.
The comedy, which won the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival Heineken Audience Award, also stars Julianna Margulies, Alan Arkin and Emily Mortimer.
The fim is about a crazy New York family whose lies to each eventually unravel.
The film is a joint venture between Garcia’s CineSon Productions, De Felitta’s Medici Entertainment, Lauren Versel and Maria Teresa Arida’s Lucky Monkey Pictures, Zachary Matz’s Filmsmith and Gremi Film Productions.
Garcia, De Felitta, Versel and Matz will produce.
