E! Confirms More Layoffs
Production staff cuts only the latest for Comcast-owned networks.
An E! Entertainment staffer told TheWrap Monday that the Comcast-owned channel had laid off an additional “eight or nine people,” all of them within the production ranks.
An official statement from the channel confirmed the additional cuts, but did not specify their breadth or departmental location.
“Like all production entities, Comcast Entertainment Group makes regular shifts in production staffing to meet ever-evolving programming objectives and show orders,” the statement read. “We will continue to produce new programming across all the networks in the most efficient way possible.”
This is just the latest round of cuts for Comcast, which is currently in negotiations to purchase NBC Universal from General Electric.
Last month, the company pink-slipped approximately 40 top-level staffers, mostly situated within E!’s sibling network, G4.

I'll share with you what I was told the day I got "set free" (laid off) from my job: "This is a new chapter in your life. WRITE ONE HELL OF A CHAPTER!" And I did just that! Will you?
