Everyone in Hollywood has an opinion on Roman Polanski.

Many feel the matter should be put to rest -- so much time has passed, and the director's personal horrors have been punishment enough, they say. Even Samantha Geimer, the woman who accused him of having sex with her when she was 13, has filed for a dismissal of the charges.

Others argue that authorities must see his case to the end: No one is above the law, and Polanski's debt to society must be paid if we're committed to protecting children from sexual predators, or valuing the contributions of women.

Even Polanski's own legal team seems divided, with one side not always sure what the other side is doing.

This Polanski debate is getting more and more interesting. Seriously, what goes around comes around. But his actions are outrageous!

Drug and rape an underage girl (or any age, or gender for that matter), you stand trial and if found guilty, serve out your sentence -- hopefully a very long sentence, like forever.

Any other back story, regardless of how tragic, is irrelevant and immaterial to this crime.

Muscle Might,

How would Polanski serving with Manson be "poetic justice" or "what comes around goes around?" You realize that Polanski WAS A VICTIM of Charles Manson right? He wasn't involved with the "Manson Family," his own family --- including his wife and unborn child --- were savagely and brutally murdered by these maniacs.

How on God's Earth would Polanski serving time with Manson be considered "poetic justice?"

You Polanski haters are so sick and twisted. You people just need to get some perspective quickly or stop talking about this case.

Polanski will serve time in the California penal system the same system that houses Charlie Manson. What poetic justice to have Polanski be Crazy Charlies cell mate. Talk about "what goes around comes around".
