And lets face it...what's Aerosmith without Steven Tyler? Sure you still have Joe Perry, but seriously no Steven Tyler? Might as well lay Aerosmith to rest.
As if having addiction problems isn't enough for the guy, lets throw in possibly not being able to return to the band that he's fronted for 30 plus years. That's horrible! Yes he may have been causing possible harm to himself and to the band and what not but could they not have waited to discuss it until he got out of rehab?

Steve tyler I feel needs some support and time to recover from illness and addiction to pain killers his band has played for many years, has alot to be happy for. Steves tyler health is more important. The band needs to show him they care. whats wrong with some time off they played like 40 years COME ON GIVE THE GUY A BREAK THAT MEANS YOU THE BAND.

Journey put in a filipino that sounds like the real article...saw them in concert and it seemed like time itself had stopped. He was perfect. Since them I realize that anyone and almost anything is replaceable. Forget wash-ups like Billy Idol and Kravitz...find another dude that sounds JUST LIKE TYLER WHEN HE WAS 28. He exists. Bye Tyler. Let them hear why we started liking you to begin with

Aerosmith doesn't need Tyler. Its not called Steven Tyler band. Besides they only have a few good songs that really rock. Any body can be replaceable. Just look at metallica when they fired Mustaine. Look at ac/dc when Bon Scott died and was replaced it still did good. So even if they stay with Tyler they will eventually splitt because of all this fighting amongst them.
All this bickering with Aerosmith is stupid. Steven Tyler is synominous with with Aerosmith. Replacing Tyler would be like The Rolling Stones replacing Mick Jagger. Steven Tyler is the face of Aerosmith just as Mick is with the Stones. I mean can anyone actuelly see someone else as a frontman for either band. I can't.
Steven Tyler cannot be without his awesome bandmates, Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and his bandmates can never be the greatest Rock band without Rock's most talented singer Steven-plain and simple-I hope they get it together!!!
Considering Tyler's exploits lately I can understand the band's frustration with him, between injuries, rehab and canellations but Matt Fraczek a couple posts up has summed it up nicely.Aerosmith IS Steven Tyler.I have never had a chance to see them play live (horrible I know)but imagine my complete disapointment if I did go and Tyler wasn't there.I'd feel like I hadn't seen "Aerosmith"!It's like Guns'N Roses,no matter how annoying he is they're nothing without Axel.
Brian Jonestown Says
Which Mick Jones was "shed" by the Rolling Stones? The one in The Clash or the one in Foreigner?
Reply:....neither, it was Mick Taylor.....the other guitarist before Ron Wood......Mick played on several signature songs including "It's only R&R......okay I'm sick of all this Aerosmith squabble......I can understand the rest of the band still wanting to play & tour......use a sideman to fill in.......what's the big deal.....or they could do a tour like Ringo's Allstars.....and invite famous friends to join them to jam.....would probably be sucessful.....Joe Perry are you listening?
Indeed, Little Feat more than pulled it off, but they had to. If all this is true, it was embarassing to read as an Aerosmith fan.
Aerosmith has nothing to do except muster all the emotional support they can for Mr. Tyler. If they can't, they'd probably be wiser shutting up and let Mr. Tyler do the talkin'.
Kudos to Mr. Tyler.

No way will Aerosmith succeed without Steven Tyler. Aerosmith and Tyler are the same word, where other bands may be able to replace a singer, it simply won't work for Aerosmith. Anybody who thinks otherwise are simply not thinking straight.
Aerosmith isn't viewed as a band with an "optional singer", where the songs and music itself being the defining characterstic. Aerosmith is viewed as Steven Tyler with musical accompaniment, with Mr. Tyler being the personality and "author" of this novel.
Try as you might Mr. Perry - you'll only falter. No true Aerosmith fan would ever go to an Aerosmith concert without Steven Tyler in front of the mic - never.
