‘Avengers 2:’ Loki Need Not Apply, Says Joss Whedon (Audio)

Director Whedon says the bad guy is out for the sequel, talks about newcomers Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver

Well, well, well — Loki here. Guess who won't be returning for "Avengers 2?"

Oh, right, Loki.

During Empire Online's recent podcast interview with director Joss Whedon, the comic-book filmmaker extraordinaire revealed that Loki would not be back for the "Avengers" sequel.

"Everyone is going to be looking for the Loki-Hulk smash moment and you'll be looking for [a quim moment]," Whedon said. "First of all, imitating what I did before is the surest way to do it not as well. Second of all, Loki's not there to say those terrible things."

Whedon also spoke about who will be in the film, including the newbies, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.
