Hanks, Goetzman Get PGA Norman Lear Award

Producers will receive lifetime achievement for TV work when org hands out its trophies Jan. 22

The Producers Guild of America on Monday announced that Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman will receive its Norman Lear Achievement Award for television when the org hands out its trophies in January.

"Tom and Gary are extraordinarily talented producers who have changed the television landscape with extremely unique, award-winning programming," said Paula Wagner, chair of the 2011 PGA Awards. "They consistently deliver intelligent, thoughtful entertainment that has made a tremendous worldwide impact on the industry. We look forward to honoring their remarkable achievements."

The 22nd annual PGA Awards ceremony will take place Jan. 22 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles.
