The 36th annual Humanitas Prizes were handed out during a Beverly Hills luncheon Thursday, with the writers of movie "Precious," and TV series "Glee" and "Modern Family" among the winners. Projects were chosen for their ability to entertain and uplift audiences. Each award came with $10,000.

30-minute category: Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd, "Modern Family" ("Pilot" episode)
