The ratings haven’t been great and reviewers have scoffed, but the Grammy nominations live concert will return for the third consecutive year on December 1.

The hour-long event, which will announce the nominees in key Grammy categories in between concert performances, will air at 10 p.m. on CBS, live on the East Coast and on tape-delay on the West Coast.

Taylor SwiftThe site of the event, the performers and presenters involved, and the categories to be announced all have yet to be determined.

Last year’s show, which featured the Black Eyed Peas and Taylor Swift (left), unveiled the nominees in seven of the Grammys’ 109 categories.  TheWrap called the event “a nominations show in which the nominations aren’t all that important.”

The previous two shows, which replaced a traditional early-morning press conference to announce nominees, have averaged a little less than seven million viewers, a 2.35 rating and a 6 share among adults 18 to 49.

Executive producers are John Cossette and Ken Erhlich for AEG Erlich Ventures and John Cossette Productions.
