Paula Wagner to Produce PGA Awards

Paula Wagner, whose more than 30-year career as a producer and agent includes 13 years as the producing partner of Tom Cruise, has been named producer of the 22nd annual Producers Guild of America Awards.

In a press release announcing the choice of Wagner, PGA presidents Mark Gordon and Hawk Koch called Wagner “an innovative and dynamic producer with some of the most impressive credits in the business.”

Paula WagnerWagner currently heads Chestnut Ridge Productions. She began her career at Creative Artists Agency, formed Cruise/Wagner Productions in 1993, and later served as co-owner and CEO of United Artists.

Films with which she has been associated include  “The Last Samurai,” “Vanilla Sky,” “Shattered Glass,” and the “Mission: Impossible” films.

She was nominated for a Producers Guild award for Motion Picture Producer of the Year in 2004 for “The Last Samurai,” and won the PGA’s Nova Award for Most Promising Producer in Motion Pictures for “Mission: Impossible” in 1997.

The PGA Awards will be held on January 22, 2011, at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza. Nominations will be announced on January 4.
