A new action thriller based on Vikings lore is in the works, with Baltasar Kormákur attached to direct “Vikingr” for Universal Pictures.

The project is based on the classic tales deriving from the legendary Icelandic Sagas, which document larger than life heroes, adventures and battles of early Nordic settlers, as well as daily life in the Viking age, and will aim to offer a fresh look at the culture.
