Barbra Streisand on Donna Summer: ‘She Had an Amazing Voice’

The two singers collaborated on the 1979 duet "No More Tears (Enough is Enough)"

Barbra Streisand paid tribute to Donna Summer on Thursday saying she was shocked and saddened after news broke that the disco diva had died of cancer at the age of 63. 

"I was shocked to hear about Donna," Streisand said in a statement. "She was so vital the last time I saw her a few months ago."

Streisand collaborated with the late singer on the 1979 single "No More Tears (Enough is Enough)," which rose to the top of the U.S. charts and was eventually certified platinum. 

The song was recorded for Streisand's "Wet" album and also appeared on Summer's compilation album, "On the Radio: Greatest Hits Volumes 1 & 2."

"I loved doing the duet with her," Streisand added. "She had an amazing voice and was so talented. .. It's so sad."
