The Walt Disney Co. has named Richard Bates senior VP of U.S. government relations.
Alan Braverman, senior executive VP, general counsel and secretary at Disney, announced the appointment Monday.
In his new position, effective immediately, Bates will be responsible for Disney’s interactions with federal and state government entities and trade associations. He will report to Braverman.
Bates, a 19-year Disney veteran, previously was executive director for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
