‘Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome’ to Be Released in February

The latest installment in the "Battlestar Galactica" franchise will debut online on Friday

Universal Cable Productions said Thursday that it plans to release "Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome Unrated Edition" in late February.

Universal Studios Home EntertainmentThe new spinoff film, which debuts Friday on the premium YouTube channel Machinema Prime, stars Luke Pasqualino as a young Captain William Adama.

It will be released on demand, digital download, DVD and Blu-ray Feb. 19, 2013.

The latest chapter in the "Battlestar Galactica" franchise follows Adama as he leads humankind's colonial fleet in an interstellar battle against the Cylons, a race of sentient robots created by humans. When he finds himself at odds with his co-pilot, officer Coker — played by "Alcatraz" actor Ben Cotton — the two must overcome differences to save the entire armada of starships.
