BBC America Picks Up Soccer Doc

About an ad exec who hand-delivers soccer balls to kids in Africa, “The Great Football Giveaway” debuts July 9

Just in time for the World Cup, BBC America has  acquired "The Great Football Giveaway" documentary, set to premiere July 9.

The film focuses on Paul Clarke, a former ad executive who founded a non-profit called, well, the Great Football Giveaway. It hand-delivers soccer balls to underprivileged children in Africa.

According to a network statement, "The Great Football Giveaway" will offer "a fresh and engaging way for viewers to connect with Africa’s most challenging issues such as poverty, disease, war and landmines."

The film is produced and distributed by RDF Rights.
