Bella Thorne Talks ‘Scream’ Season 2 Return, Why She’s Done Playing the ‘Mean Girl’ (Video)

“I’ve turned down a few big movies that I was like, ‘I really want to do this movie, but I don’t want to be seen as that same character,'” actress tells TheWrap

Bella Thorne is ready to move on from the “mean girl.”

In an interview with TheWrap, the former Disney Channel star explained that after playing the same type of character several times now, she’s ready to diversify the kinds of roles she takes on in upcoming projects.

Thorne has made a name for herself playing the mean girl, in the teen comedy “The DUFF” earlier in the year and more recently in the MTV adaptation of Wes Craven‘s horror film series “Scream.”

“I’ve turned down a few big movies that I was like, ‘I really want to do this movie, but I don’t want to be seen as that same character,’” she said.

Fans can catch her in the role again when she reappears on the horror series before season’s end. As for whether or not she’ll be returning to “Scream” when it comes back for Season 2, Thorne plays coy, offering just a sly wink and a nod.
