‘Ben and Kate’ Alum Nat Faxon Lands Lead in FX Marriage Comedy

Nat Faxon will play a man whose wife gives him permission to cheat on her in order to save their union

"Ben and Kate" might not have made a splash, but its star Nat Faxon is still finding work.

Faxon has signed on as the lead for the untitled FX comedy pilot from "The Last Exorcism" writer Andrew Gurland.

The as-yet-untitled project centers on a woman who gives her husband permission to find a mistress in order to help save their marriage.

Gurland is writing and executive producing the pilot, with Paul Young and Peter Principato also executive producing for Principato-Young Entertainment.

"Ben and Kate," which starred Faxon as Ben, the laid-back brother of single mother Kate (Dakota Johnson), premiered in September on Fox with a lukewarm 2.0 rating/6 share in the key 18-49 demographic, and was pulled from the network's schedule in January after dropping from there.

Faxon won an Oscar for co-writing "The Descendants."

Deadline first reported the news of Faxon's casting.
