Ben Carson Warns ‘End of Days’ Is Near (Video)

“You could guess that we are getting closer to that,” Republican presidential candidate says

Ben Carson appeared on Sharyl Attkisson’s new weekly show “Full Measure” Sunday for a broad interview that included an evaluation of the current state of the world, and according to the neurosurgeon-turned-presidential candidate, the prognosis for humanity doesn’t look good.

When asked about his faith and the role it would play in a possible Carson presidency, he said, “I believe in godly principles,” to which host Attkisson followed up: “What is your view on what’s happening around the globe and here in the U.S. in terms of what’s in the Bible? Do you think we’re at the end of days?”

“You could guess that we are getting closer to that,” the increasingly popular Republican candidate said. “You do have people who have a belief system that sees this apocalyptic phenomena occurring and that they’re a part of it, and who would not hesitate to use nuclear weapons if they gain possession of them.”

While that kind of diagnosis might make a run for the presidency seemingly futile, Carson suggested that it may not be terminal.

“So is there a chance to change the course,” Attkisson probed, “if it is something that’s prophesized?”

“I think we have a chance to certainly do everything that we can to ameliorate the situation,” Carson responded. “I would always be shooting for peace.”

Attkisson is a former CBS News correspondent. Her new show airs on Sinclair Broadcasting’s local TV stations. Watch the video.
