The “Star Trek Into Darkness” star channels Julian Assange’s snark to rip into the quality of journalism at the UK news organization

Benedict Cumberbatch opens up a verbal can of whoop ass on two journalists from UK paper The Guardian in a new clip from DreamWorks’ “The Fifth Estate.”

Cumberbatch plays activist Julian Assange in the upcoming drama about the rise of his controversial organization infamous for regularly releasing classified or sensitive information to the public.

“I just want you to do your job properly,” Cumberbatch tells journalists questioning the value of his website. “If you can’t, someone needs to pick up the slack.”

“Anyone can take a ton of information, toss it up on a website and call it news,” the Guardian reporter responds. “People buy our papers for something a little more discerning.”

“People still buy your paper?”

Burn.

“The Fifth Estate,” which is directed by Bill Condon (“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn”) and co-stars Daniel Brühl (“Rush”) as former WikiLeaks spokesman Daniel Domscheit-Berg, hits theaters Oct. 18.
