Benjamin Blake Joins Heroes and Villains Entertainment in LA Office

He represents “Preacher” writer Eric Dufault and “Tailspin!” playwright Mario Correa

On the heels of bolstering its TV team earlier this year, Heroes and Villains Entertainment is further expanding its literary business by bringing in NY-based manager Benjamin Blake, who will work with clients in film, TV, books and reality out of the company’s LA office, TheWrap has learned.

Blake began his career at CAA before returning to New York City and founding FreyaDog Entertainment, a literary management firm focusing on developing NYC-based writers and directors.

He brings with him a diverse list of clients including Eric Dufault, a writer on the upcoming AMC series whose hit play “Year of the Rooster” won the John Gassner Outer Critics Circle Award in 2014; Mario Correa, whose play “Tailspin!” starred Rachel Dratch; writer/director August Praley, creator of the NYTimes Critic pick “Augie Alone”; authors and comedians Roslyn Hart (“Never Sleep Alone” via Gallery Books) and Laura Lane & Angela Spera (“This Is Why You’re Single” via Adams Media).

Heroes and Villains Entertainment is a production and management company specializing in content creation for film, TV, video games, comic books and new media, as well as the representation of content creators in those arenas.

Earlier this year, TV manager Henry Huang joined the company, which has made a name for itself representing storytellers such as Ransom Riggs (“Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children”), Michael Markowitz (“Horrible Bosses”) and Jordan Mechner (“Prince of Persia”), amongst many others.
