BET Officially Renews ‘The Game,’ ‘Let’s Stay Together’

The network will also announce a Malcolm-Jamal Warner sitcom at its Wednesday upfront in New York City

BET will officially announce that it has renewed the highly-rated sitcom "The Game" for another season Wednesday evening at the network's 2011 upfront presentation to advertisers at the Best Buy Theater in New York City.

That news will come as a surprise to few, given the record ratings posted earlier this year by the football comedy, which BET snatched up after it was canceled by The CW in 2009. A whopping 7.7 million viewers watched the show's BET premiere in January, a number that fell to a still impressive 4.4 million for the recent season finale.

The network will also give a second season to "Let's Stay Together," a sitcom about two couples that is produced by Queen Latifah.

Both "Let's Stay Together" and "The Game" will return in January 2012.

Additionally, BET will venture further into the waters of scripted television with a new sitcom, "Reed Between the Lines," which stars Malcolm-Jamal Warner of "The Cosby Show" fame. "Reed Between the Lines" will debut in the fall.
