Beyoncé Sings Michelle Obama’s Praises in New Campaign Video

Beyoncé makes a special tribute in a new campaign video, callling Michelle Obama “the ultimate example of a truly strong African-American woman”

Beyoncé Knowles is officially aboard the Obama 2012 campaign train – in case there was any doubt.

In a new video posted on BarackObama.com, the chart-topping chanteuse praises First Lady Michelle Obama, thanking her “for everything she’s doing for our country, and also for women around the world.”

The campaign spot shows Knowles — new mother to baby girl Blue Ivy Carter with husband Jay-Z – reading a letter she penned to Mrs. Obama last spring, saluting her as “the ultimate example of a truly strong African-American woman.”

“No matter the pressure and the stress of being under the microscope, she’s humble, loving and sincere,” says Knowles, who ushered in Barack Obama’s first term in office with a rendition of Etta James’ “At Last” during the president’s inaugural ball on Jan. 20, 2009.

Addressing her subject directly, the artist also known as Sasha Fierce makes a good case for a repeat performance at Obama’s next big function, telling FLOTUS, “I am proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you to look up to.”

Another high-profile musical mom, Gwen Stefani, is planning to open her Beverly Hills home for a family event with the first lady on Aug. 12.
