Bill Maher Shows Donald Trump an Alternative Reality ala ‘A Christmas Carol’ (Video)

“Real Time” host shows the president through old interviews that he is a changed man — and not necessarily in a good way

Bill Maher marked the last “Real Time” show before the holidays and the first Christmas in the White House for President Trump by taking a page out of “A Christmas Carol” and giving the POTUS a glimpse of the man he used to be.

In “A Christmas Carol,” Ebenezer Scrooge was visited by the Ghost of Christmas Past to show him what he was like before a greedy, cold-hearted transformation. Maher gave Trump a similar trip in time.

“Since Donald Trump is truly the Ebenezer Scrooge of our time – angry, rich, and hard to look at – maybe tonight I could play the part of the ghost and show Trump an alternative reality of what his life could have been if he weren’t such a s—head,” Maher began.

Maher reminded Trump through clips of old interviews that he once wasn’t “looking to make tremendous amounts of money,” that he believed in luck, and when gossip columnist Rona Barrett asked him what was more important, work or love, Trump chose love.

“Choose love? Not p—y grabbing?” Maher asked. “Careful, Don, it’s a slippery slope to compassion.”

Although last year Trump claimed he didn’t know who David Duke was, Maher pulled up an old clip of him calling the former Grand Wizard of the KKK “a bigot, a racist, a problem,” adding, “I mean, this is not exactly the people you want in your party.”

“But now it’s exactly the people you want in your party,” Maher said. “Do you see, Don? Do you see what spending the last 20 years watching Fox News has done to your brain? Is it too late to bring back the old Trump?”
