Bill Maher Makes $1M Donation to Obama’s Super PAC (Video)

The "Real Time with Bill Maher" host brought out a giant check for $1 million during his "CrazyStupidPolitics" show in San Jose Thursday night

Barack Obama's Super PAC is $1 million richer, thanks to a surprise donation from comedian Bill Maher.

Maher, during a live performance of his "CrazyStupidPolitics" show in San Jose Thursday night, surprised his concert audience by announcing he was making the sizable donation, which came courtesy of a giant check — yep, just like in the Publisher's Clearing House commercials — made out to Priorities USA Action in the amount of a million bucks.

"My surprise tonight is I would like to tonight announce a donation to the Obama Super PAC, which has the very unfortunate tongue-twister name Priority USA Action," Maher said, getting the name slightly wrong. “I know, it was named by Borat. But tonight I would like to give that PAC one million dollars."

Maher had teased the announcement on Twitter before his San Jose show, which was streamed live by Yahoo! After the show, he tweeted that he had not told Yahoo the donation was coming.

"Thank u everybody who's hit me up after the show, and a great San Jose audience. Obama donation was a surprise to Yahoo too fyi!"
