Devin Faraci is stepping down from his position as the editor-in-chief of movie blog Birth.Movies.Death after being accused of sexual assault.
“I’m sure many of you have heard that Devin has stepped down as editor-in-chief of Birth.Movies.Death. I’m here to assure you that the site and magazine will continue, with a team of smart, passionate writers dedicated to bringing you the best in pop culture news and conversation today,” managing editor, Meredith Borders said in a statement posted on the site. “Devin built this site into something we’re proud to continue and grow in his absence. We are a community, and you are a crucial part of that community. We’re eager to move forward, together, with all of you.”
After Trump’s “Access Hollywood” tape leaked on Friday, Faraci took to Twitter to post, “The most telling thing about the Trump tape? He wasn’t talking with his best friends. He was boasting to a TV host.” The next day, a woman under the Twiter handle @spacecrone, tweeted, “quick question: do you remember grabbing me by the p—y and bragging to your friends about it, telling them to smell your fingers?”
Faraci responded, “I do not remember this. I can only believe you and beg forgiveness for having been so vile.”

Since Sunday’s exchange, @Spacecrone has been extremely vocal on Twitter, responding to people who don’t believe her and stating that she “didn’t do it to be vengeful.”
I've had some people dm me asking me a) why Twitter and b) why wait so long to say something about Devin

As a woman you get very familiar with survival mode and letting things go so the anger doesn't exhaust your resources
— Caroline (@spacecrone) October 10, 2016
I'd given him the chance to apologize, he didn't, so I just let it go so i could live.
— Caroline (@spacecrone) October 10, 2016
But the past few days, being confronted with The trump tapes and people defending them, I just got tired of this world.
— Caroline (@spacecrone) October 10, 2016
And why Twitter? I saw him tweeting about trump and the irony that he'd actually DONE that very thing to me, the dissonance…
— Caroline (@spacecrone) October 10, 2016
I think in this political climate it is no longer time to work on letting things go, being quiet, figuring out how to move on.
— Caroline (@spacecrone) October 10, 2016
I didn't do it to be vengeful. His suffering gives me no pleasure. I did it because I was tired of being quiet.
— Caroline (@spacecrone) October 10, 2016
don't believe me? totally up to you. i'm not your mom. you're free to think whatever you want. always have been.
— Caroline (@spacecrone) October 10, 2016
what did i want to come out of this? i wanted him to know i haven't forgotten, and i want people to be aware how common stuff like this is.
— Caroline (@spacecrone) October 10, 2016
The user also posted a tweet in which she says she spoke to Tim League, founder of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, which owns Birth.Movies.Death. The company declined to comment.
Some of you may already have seen that Devin has stepped down from his job.
— Caroline (@spacecrone) October 11, 2016
After talking with @timalamo, who was extremely supportive, it sounds like he is genuinely interested in getting help.
— Caroline (@spacecrone) October 11, 2016
Am I happy all of this had to happen? No. But I am really relieved that something constructive seems to have come of this.
— Caroline (@spacecrone) October 11, 2016
Shortly after the above tweets, @Spacecrone decided to delete her primary tweet.
I'm taking down "the tweet," not because i'm embarrassed or want to pretend it didn't happen,
— Caroline (@spacecrone) October 11, 2016
but because it's become a focal point for some really vile stuff that i don't feel is in any way in touch with what actually happened
— Caroline (@spacecrone) October 11, 2016
Faraci got his start on movie fan site Chud, but left in 2010 to launch the website, Birth.Movies.Death with Alamo Drafthouse’s financial backing. His reviews are well known in the film industry.
Birth.Movies.Death has not yet responded to TheWrap’s request for comment.
