The bloodline stops here: Netflix’s “Bloodline” will conclude with Season 3, the streaming giant has confirmed. Additionally, the third run’s order has been trimmed from 13 episodes to 10.
“‘Bloodline’ Season 3 will be the show’s final season,” Cindy Holland, Netflix vice president of original content, told TheWrap on Wednesday. “Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman and Glenn Kessler (KZK) are thoughtful and visionary storytellers, who lead a prestigious cast, that includes Kyle Chandler and Ben Mendelsohn, who have both garnered two Emmy nominations for their roles on the series. Together, with our collaborative partners at Sony Pictures Television, they created a seductive show that Netflix viewers worldwide love and continue to discover.”
Mendelsohn has also received a Golden Globe nod, as well as one Critics Choice Television Awards nomination. Neither TV brother won any of those, but both actors have done excellent work on the very good show.
Holland concluded her remarks, “We are looking forward to the exciting climax KZK have in store for the series conclusion in May 2017.”
“Bloodline” was just renewed for its junior run in mid-July. Now, it won’t go beyond that one.
The Florida Keys-set family drama also stars Linda Cardellini, Sissy Spacek, Norbert Leo Butz, Jacinda Barrett, Jamie McShane, Enrique Murciano, Katie Finneran and Chloë Sevigny. The first two seasons of “Bloodline” are currently streaming on Netflix.
