Bob Schreck to Head Legendary Pictures’ New Comics Division

Veteran comics editor put into lead editorial role, to publish four to six graphic novels a year

Veteran comic-book editor Bob Schreck has been appointed editor-in-chief of Legendary Comics, the newly formed graphic-novel publisher established by Legendary Pictures.

Under Schreck, Legendary Comics plans to publish four to six graphic novels a year for both digital and print distribution. 

Joining Legendary from IDW Publishing, Schreck starts this week.

Legendary plans to release its first project in the fist half of 2011.

"Legendary Comics is committed to being a new home for groundbreaking artists and the characters and stories they create, in an art form we love."

Prior to joining IDW, where he served as senior editor, Schreck spent nearly a decade at DC Comics, where he stated in 1990.
