Dr. Phil’s intervention for Nick Gordon appears to have been a successful one.
TMZ reports Bobbi Kristina Brown’s boyfriend entered rehab after taping an appearance on Dr. Phil’s daytime talk show scheduled to air on March 11.
Gordon’s mother sat alongside her son during the intervention, in which Gordon admitted to alcohol and drug abuse stemming from Whitney Houston‘s death, as well as severe pain, mental anguish and panic attacks he has been suffering since Bobbi Kristina was found face down and unresponsive in their Atlanta-area home on Jan. 31.
“As we sit here right now, my son’s life hangs in the balance,” Michelle Gordon told Dr. Phil. “When Whitney was found, he administered CPR to her and called me as he was standing in front of her saying, ‘Mom, why couldn’t I do it? I couldn’t get air into her lungs.’ He won’t let go of the guilt.”
Both Gordon’s lawyer and publicist have not yet responded to TheWrap‘s request for comment.
Gordon has been tweeting to vent his frustrations with Bobbi Kristina’s father, Bobby Brown, for banning him from visiting her at the hospital where she remains on life support, but has been silent since Wednesday.
