ABC isn’t bringing “Body of Proof” back from the dead.

In October, reports circulated that ABC was considering bringing back the crime procedural as a midseason replacement. But, its star is saying that isn’t going happen.

“Sorry to disappoint some, but #bodyofproof will not be resurrected,” Dana Delany said on Twitter. “May she rest in peace. Time for new adventures!”

“Body of Proof” was canceled in May after a three-season run. There was some surprise over the decision as the series was made over in its final season and ABC could depend on its average 11 million viewers to show up every week and a 2.0 rating among the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic. At the time, it was the network’s third most-watched drama.

Comparing those numbers to its current season, “Body of Proof” did better than new ABC dramas “Betrayal,” “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland,” and the canceled “Lucky 7.”

After “Body of Proof’s” cancelation, ABC Studios tried to place the series on a cable network for a second chance but was unable to do so.

So, it looks like “Body of Proof” can finally be put at rest.

ABC had no comment.
