Titus Welliver plays the title role on Amazon drama “Bosch,” but even he could be surprised by something his character does.
On Season 3 of the detective series, Welliver’s son Quinn Welliver shows up in flashbacks to play the young Harry Bosch.
“There wasn’t a tremendous amount of dialogue but it was a very emotionally substantive and informing scene about where we find Harry at that age, and it was the reveal of the Hold Fast tattoos, that question about how he has the scars on his knuckles,” Welliver reminisced.
“It’s not as if Quinn sat and watched the episodes over and over again, but he has this tremendous gift to be able to tap into who that character is and he really brought that emotional weight that that character carries,” he continued. “So when we can go back and see young Harry, it informs that which we see him as an older man and it’s connective tissue, for the audience is great, and I was extremely proud of how he did that.”
Welliver also revealed the biggest challenge he faced in filming Season 3, and also the most fun thing he got to do.
