Longtime Pixar employee Brad Lewis has joined Digital Domain Media startup Group's Tradition Studios, the company announced Wednesday.
Lewis co-directed "Cars 2" with John Lasseter and produced "Ratatouille," both for Pixar. He was at Pixar for 10 years.
At Tradition, he'll direct original animated features.
Before his work at Pixar, Lewis was a producer on "Antz." Other credits include "The Arrival," "The Peacemaker" and "Broken Arrow."
Lewis won an Emmy for Hanna-Barbera's "The Last Halloween" and a graphic design Emmy for ABC's "Monday NightFootball."
He was nominated for an Emmy for his work on "The Simpsons."
He's also the former mayor of San Carlos, Calif.
In a written statement, Digital Domain Media Group chairman and CEO John Textor said, "We are honored that he has chosen to join us, having come from an environment that we believe represents the finest traditions of storytelling."
Lewis will work from Tradition's Florida Animation Studio.
