‘Breaking In’ Pulled From Fox Schedule

Christian Slater comedy was revived after it looked doomed last season

Cruel, cruel TV fate: After bringing the Christian Slater comedy "Breaking In" back from the dead, Fox has pulled it from its schedule for the rest of April and May.

"Breaking In," currently in its sophomore season, seemed to have been canceled by Fox last year, but was then revived for a midseason debut in March. Its next new episode had been scheduled to air on April 24, when it would have taken over the Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. timeslot after "Raising Hope" airs its season finale next week.

But poor ratings intervened. Last week's "Breaking In" drew just 2.6 million viewers, a 43 percent drop from its lead-in, "The New Girl." Fox pulled another underperforming comedy, "I Hate My Teenage Daughter," from its schedule in March.

Fox had ordered 13 episodes of "Breaking In" for season two, including at least one that would be directed by Slater.

A network representative confirms to TheWrap that the April 24, May 1 and May 8 episodes of "Breaking In" will be replaced with repeat episodes of "New Girl."

The "Breaking In" eps "will air at a later date," the rep says.
