Quvenzhané Wallis gave an emotionally powerful performance in "Beasts of the Southern Wild" when she was just six years old. Now nine, the breakout child star of the indie hit is soaking up the spotlight on the cover of OscarWrap magazine, TheWrap's insider guide to all things Oscar.
Her confidence in front of a camera and ability to command the attention of viewers has only grown since her days as Hushpuppy. In a behind-the-scenes glimpse of her photo shoot atop Hollywood's Runyon Canyon, she doesn't hesitate to sing and dance alongside "Beasts" director Benh Zeitlin.
"I'm a movie star," the unlikely Oscar contender belts out high above the busy streets of Los Angeles. Provided Academy voters agree, she might become an award-winning one, too.
Watch what happened during the shoot below and then check out the November issue of OscarWrap magazine to see the finished photography.
