NBC "is aware of the situation," a spokesman told the Associated Press, and has been in contact with Michaels.

An Emmy Award winner, Michaels moved to NBC in 2007 after nearly three decades at ABC Sports, where he called "Monday Night Football' for 19 years. He also called the U.S.-Soviet Union "Miracle on Ice" game at the 1980 Winter Olympics.
