Broadway Musical ‘Once’ Plans National Tour in 2013

"Once," the Broadway musical nominated for 11 Tony Awards, announces plans for a national tour

"Once," the Tony-nominated Broadway musical based on the 2006 film, will launch a national tour in the summer of 2013.

The production, written by Enda Walsh and directed by John Tiffany, received 11 Tony nominations, including Best Musical. "Once" stars Steve Kazee as 'Guy' and Cristin Milioti as 'Girl.' in the roles made famous in the movie by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová as an Irish busker and a Czech immigrant who meet by chance, find romance and make music together.

On Sunday, the show picked up three Lucille Lortel Awards, including Outstanding Musical, for the off-Broadway production at New York Theatre Workshop. "Falling Slowly," which is featured in the film and the musical, won the 2008 Oscar for Original Song.

"Once," which opened on Broadway March 18 following a run at New York Theatre Workshop, is currently playing at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.

It is produced by Barbara Broccoli, John N. Hart Jr., Patrick Milling Smith, Frederick Zollo, Brian Carmody, Michael G. Wilson, Orin Wolf, the Shubert Organization and Executive Producer Robert Cole, in association with New York Theatre Workshop.
