Bruce Rosenblum has been named president of Legendary Television and Digital Media, Legendary Entertainment said Monday.
The appointment ends feverish speculation about where the former Warner Bros. Television Group CEO would land after he left the media conglomerate in May. His exit came after he was passed over for the job of chief executive of all of Warner Bros. in favor of Kevin Tsujihara, the former president of the company's home entertainment unit.

In his new post, Rosenblum will report to Legendary Entertainment Founder and CEO Thomas Tull. It is a coup for Legendary, which is best known for its work co-financing films like "Man of Steel" and "The Dark Knight," but clearly has designs on expanding its television and new media footprint.
“There has never been a better time to be producing and distributing television content," Rosenblum said in a statement. "The Legendary consumer belongs to a connected, vibrant demographic, and the opportunity to develop content and strategies to reach this burgeoning audience is invigorating and exciting to me.”
When Rosenblum lost the high-profile bake-off for the top job at Warner Bros., he acknowledged publicly that he was disappointed. The snub was a surprise to many studio observers who felt the job was Rosenblum's to lose. After all, the company's small-screen divisions were frequently responsible for more than half of Warner Bros. Entertainment’s profits and Rosenblum was credited with overseeing hit programming like “The Big Bang Theory” and “Two and Half Men."
Rosenblum's appointment comes as Legendary and Tull are trying to decide whether or not to continue partnering on many of Warners' biggest films or if he will leave the studio at the end of the year when his contract is up.
