Cameron Death to Head NBC Universal Digital Studio

Online veteran named senior vice president & general manager, will oversee company’s digital content

He’s more or less done the job for the past two years, but now Cameron Death has the title to go along with his work spearheading NBC Universal’s digital content.

Death has been promoted to senior vice president and general manager of the company’s digital studio, NBC Universal announced on Monday.

The studio, which Death has overseen since its inception in 2008, creates original digital content for major advertisers and distributes it across the company’s digital, cable and network platforms.

"Cameron has done what many thought impossible. He has created a Digital Studio from the ground up, achieving repeated success with top-notch entertainment that puts brands front and center," Vivi Zigler, president of NBC Universal Digital Entertainment, said in a statement. "He thinks big and is fearless, and as a result, has successfully taken on uncharted territory."

In his new post, Death will try to integrate the products integrate more closely with NBC Universal’s core entertainment properties, and extend libraries into international and other secondary markets, the company said.

Prior to joining NBC in 2007, Death spent over 10 years at Microsoft working in marketing, sales, business and product development.
