NEW YORK, March 1, 2011 — Casey Patterson has been promoted to executive vice president, event production, talent development and studio relations for the MTV Networks Entertainment Group, it was announced by Doug Herzog, president of the MTV Networks Entertainment Group, to whom she reports. The Entertainment Group is comprised of a multi-platform portfolio of brands featuring COMEDY CENTRAL, Spike TV and TV Land cable channels and Web sites, as well as Internet sites Atom.com and GameTrailers.com. Patterson was formerly senior vice president of Spike TV and TV Land.

Based in New York, Patterson is responsible for the creation and execution of brand-defining event programming and management of celebrity talent at the MTV Networks Entertainment Group, as well as motion picture studio relations for the three networks within the Group. In her expanded role, Patterson has developed and will co-executive produce "The Comedy Awards," which honors the best comedy films, actors, television series, stand-up and digital content and will air across multiple MTV Networks including COMEDY CENTRAL, Spike TV, TV Land, CMT, Logo, Nick At Nite and VH1 on April

"Over the last several years, Casey Patterson has overseen the development and launch of some of the most exciting and original events on television,” said Herzog. “The vision and passion she brings to these events are unmatched.”

In addition, Patterson oversees Spike TV’s "Video Game Awards," "Guys Choice," a two-hour homage to the kingdom of testosterone and "Scream," the first and only event to honor creative talent in the science fiction, fantasy, horror and comic book genres, which she co-created. For each show, in addition to her network role, Patterson serves as executive producer.

At TV Land, Patterson oversees the production of the "TV Land Awards," which pays tribute to classic and contemporary luminaries in television, music and movies as well as the “AFI Life Achievement Award,” which will honor Morgan Freeman in June 2011.

In addition, Patterson created Spike TV's national fatherhood outreach campaign, "True Dads," which has resonated with both the Spike audience and with advertisers. Spike's national fatherhood initiative partnered with the USO and United Through Reading® to launch "True Dads: In Uniform," which reaches out to help those fathers serving overseas who can't physically interact with their kids.

Prior to Spike TV and TV Land, Patterson, an Emmy-nominated producer, also served asdirector of talent development at VH1, where her contributions were central to the success of several high-profile events including: "The Concert for New York City;" "VH1 Vogue Fashion Awards;" "VH1 Divas Live;" "Saturday Night Live 25th Anniversary Special;" and "The Concert of the Century at the White House." She was also a talent producer for FOX's "Billboard Music Awards," NBC's "Concert for America" and CMT's "Flameworthy Awards" and a co-creator of the syndicated series, "The Sharon Osbourne Show." Overall, Patterson has been in the entertainment industry for 17 years and was named "A Woman to Watch in Entertainment" as well as one of "Cable's Most Powerful Women" by Multichannel News and Cable Fax respectively.
