The Emmy-nominated host of Fox’s veteran competition series said the pace of shooting a single-camera comedy series was totally different than the interactive, immediate feedback of live hosting.

“In New York, when I was shooting the ‘Deadbeat’ series, it was like — sometimes you’d sit around for six hours before you even start,” Deeley said. “So, the process is very, very, very different. Equally enjoyable, but very different. And I had to get my head used to that.”

“Deadbeat” follows Kevin Pacalioglu (“Reaper” alum Tyler Labine), a guy who barely makes a living exorcising ghosts. Deeley plays Camomile White, a celebrity medium with slightly fewer bona fides than Kevin, who will stop at nothing to keep him from toppling her empire.
