CBS Adds Robert De Niro Drama, 2 Other Pilots

Kevin Dillon comedy and Poppy Montgomery cop show also given the go-ahead

CBS picked up two police dramas and a male buddy comedy on Monday, TheWrap has confirmed.

"The 2-2," formerly titled "Rookies," is produced by Robert De Niro's Tribeca Productions and will star Leelee Sobieski in a one-hour series about six NYPD rookies struggling to balance their personal lives with their new beats on the streets of Manhattan.

In other cop-show news, CBS has also given the go-ahead to "Unforgettable," which had previously been known as "Untitled Redlich/Belucci Project." Written and co-produced by Ed Redlich and John Bellucci ("Without a Trace"), the one-hour drama will star Poppy Montgomery (pictured) as a female NYPD officer with the unique ability to remember everything — an asset in her profession, but a liability in her personal life.

Also given the green light: The half-hour comedy "How to Be a Gentleman," which is based on the book of the same name and will follow the friendship of an uptight columnist and his less cultured personal trainer. Kevin Dillon — who's preparing to wrap the last season of HBO's "Entourage" — will star, alongside "NewsRadio" vet Dave Foley and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" actor David Hornsby.
