CBS Cancels ‘Defenders,’ ‘Mad Love,’ ‘$#*! My Dad Says’

Shows exiting to make room in fall schedule

CBS has cancelled this season's freshmen series "$#*! My Dad Says," "The Defenders," and "Mad Love," TheWrap has confirmed.

All three shows performed decently in the ratings, but not well enough for the first-place network, which has precious little room in its schedule and its upfront presentation to advertisers days away.

"Mad Love" debuted to a solid 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo, but quickly fell victim to the cancellation for the season of "Two and a Half Men." It debuted on Feb. 14, as Charlie Sheen began the media rampage against the employers who eventually fired him. Without new episodes of "Men" to anchor Monday night, "Mad Love" quickly lost its audience.

CBS announced Friday that "Two and a Half Men" would return with Ashton Kutcher replacing Sheen.

The cancellations were first reported by Deadline.
