CBS has promoted Sharon Vuong to Senior Vice President of Alternative Programming, the network announced Thursday.

Vuong will replace the outgoing Chris Castallo, who is leaving CBS when his contract expires this summer.

She reports directly to Glenn Geller, President of CBS Entertainment.

In her new position, which is effective immediately, Vuong is charged with developing new alternative programs, including reality series, game shows and other non-scripted programming. She will also oversee CBS’ current slate of reality franchises, including “Survivor,” “The Amazing Race” and “Big Brother.”

Vuong joined CBS in 2011 as Director of Alternative Programming and was then promoted to Vice President. She also worked on reality shows like “Big Brother” and “Survivor” in various capacities prior to joining CBS in an executive capacity.
