CBS Picks Up ‘Person of Interest,’ ‘Two Broke Girls’

The Eye network orders shows from J.J. Abrams and Michael Patrick King

CBS is picking up new shows from J.J. Abrams and Michael Patrick King, TheWrap has confirmed.

Among the first pickups are the spy thriller  "Person of Interest" and the comedy "Two Broke Girls," according to an individual with knowledge.

"Person of Interest" centers on a CIA agent who works with a billionaire to fight crime. It stars Michael Emerson and Jim Caviezel and was produced by Abrams and written by Jonathan Nolan ("The Dark Knight").

King's "Two Broke Girls" sounds strikingly similar to the romantic travails the showrunner mined so famously in "Sex and the City." It stars Kat Dennings and focuses on twenty-something female friends in New York.
