Time magazine took a bold stance on New Jersey governor Chris Christie in it newest cover, calling the overweight Republican an “elephant.”
The cover, featuring Christie in profile with his mouth illuminated, said Christie, who was just re-elected governor of New Jersey in a landslide victory, was “the elephant in the room.”

This was not Christie’s first go round as Time’s coverboy: in January, Time called him “The Boss.”
It’s also not the first time the magazine has tried to use its cover to anoint the next Republican leader this year: in February, Marco Rubio was called “the Republican Savior” and “the new voice of the GOP.”
