“Given the audience's interest in business news as the day begins, and markets across the globe have been open for hours, Christine will add a great dimension to the program that starts CNN's programming day,” said Jeff Zucker, president of CNN Worldwide. “Plus, Christine's fantastic rapport with John makes this a dynamic team for America to wake up to.”

Victor Blackwell and Christi Paul will host “New Day Weekend” 6-9:30 a.m. ET on Saturdays and 6:00-7:30 a.m. and 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. ET on Sundays. Blackwell will continue reporting for CNN based in Atlanta and Paul will continue anchoring for HLN during the week.

“Victor and Christi have proven that they are consummate journalists and anchors,” said Zucker. “In expanding their roles, CNN is fortunate to have their depth of knowledge and breadth of experience to tell the compelling stories that people expect from CNN. Victor has been sitting in this seat for many months now, and we are thrilled to make this role official, and excited to pair him with Christi.”

CNN could have a lot done worse than Christi Paul. In fact they did each time they rolled someone else through that seat. Paul is attractive and seems to know what's going on. She's been with CNN for quite a while.
Really no comparison between Paul and the others,
I did like Ana Cabrera. With some seasoning she could be really good.
Don't really remember the others who auditioned. Good way to get people to fill in on lousy shifts, At the same time no one wants to make waves with a new boss looking for change.
I don't get Victor Blackwell. I thought he had a worst dressed list or something.
Just not buying this guy as an anchor.
