Clive Owen, Roger Donaldson, Anil Kapoor Infiltrate ‘Cities’

The financial thriller is set to film in October in London, Mumbai and New York

Roger Donaldson will direct Clive Owen and "Slumdog Millionaire" star Anil Kapoor in "Cities," a financial thriller set in New York, London and Mumbai.

Donaldson ("The Bank Job," "The Recruit") co-wrote the screenplay based on "Extreme Cities," an original script by Glenn Wilhide.

Matthew Metcalfe and Chris Curling are producing.

According to Parlay Films, which will handle international sales for the film and debut the project at Cannes, "Cities" is "a cautionary tale about greed and ambition that takes place in the exuberant months leading up to the Dow Jones all-time stock market high."

Owen (left) was nominated for an Academy Award for the 2004 "Closer."

Kapoor stars in the upcoming "Mission Impossible — Ghost Protocol."

Donaldson's thriller "Hungry Rabbit Jumps" stars Nicolas Cage, Guy Pearce and January Jones and is in post production.
