ABC’s “CMA Music Festival” dipped 10 percent from last year, in part because of competition Tuesday night from NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.” Still, ABC won in the key demographic, while NBC had the biggest audience of the night.

ABC had a 1.8 rating/6 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and was second in viewers with an average of 7.2 million, according to preliminary numbers. It was the only broadcast on ABC’s schedule.

NBC was second in ratings with a 1.7/6 and first in viewers with 7.4 million. “Food Fighters” at 8 received a 1.2/5 and 4.3 million viewers. “America’s Got Talent” at 9 had night-high 2.0/6 — which dipped 17 percent to tie a low — and 8.9 million viewers.
