CMT Names 5 ‘Artists of the Year’ for 2015

CMT has selected its “Artists of the Year” for 2015, with the sixth annual television special set to air next month.

Sam Hunt, Florida Georgia Line, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan and “The Voice” star Blake Shelton are the five artists who will be honored when the 90-minute country music special airs live from Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center on Dec. 2.

Hunt, Shelton and Little Big Town are first-time recipients, with Bryan becoming a four-time honoree and Florida Georgia Line returning for the third year in a row.

Previous years’ honorees include Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Hunter Hayes, Toby Keith, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban and Zac Brown Band.

CMT’s “Artists of the Year” special is executive produced by Switched On Entertainment’s John Hamlin. Jayson Dinsmore and Margaret Comeaux serve as executive producers for CMT.
